A Northern Gal, with a love for her new Southern hometown.

Originally from Ohio, I figured I’d combine my now southern roots with my northern heritage thus, becoming the Lexington Yankee. I moved to South Carolina in 2007. I was still an active duty member of the United States Air Force and was stationed at Shaw AFB. I never really ventured outside of Sumter. My family often vacationed at Myrtle Beach in my youth, but never explored anywhere but the coastline. After moving to Lexington in 2017 with my husband and our three children, I could not believe the amazing places to see, food to eat, small businesses that popped up and areas of the town that make Lexington a booming and “bopping” as my teenage daughter would say-place to live. I wanted not only to showcase these places, but also show the “peeps” of Lexington what is happening in our town. Lexington is becoming “the place” in the Palmetto State.
