Crumbl’s Beginnings
Crumbl Cookies is located at 5135 Sunset Blvd. Suite J, in Lexington, South Carolina. The new cookie shop is in the shopping center anchored by Target and Best Buy. Remarkably, this cookie shop is part of a chain that began in Logan, Utah in 2017.
Excitingly, the Grand Opening for the Lexington location of Crumbl was today, Thursday, December 3rd. Just in time for National Cookie Day on Friday. In celebration of National Cookie Day, customers can get a free chocolate chip cookie and 20% off a box of four cookies.

Today, I swung by and picked up a four-pack. Let me just say, I was not disappointed. The atmosphere of Crumbl, is very welcoming. I’d describe the aesthetic as modern chic. This isn’t surprising since, the owner, Tyler Hinckley, tells Free Times, “We pose ourselves as a gourmet cookie provider, we almost view ourselves as a cookie-tech-type company, where we’re constantly innovating.” Which is evidenced in all of the digital marketing displays and touchscreens throughout the shop.
Another bonus to my visit is, everyone working behind the counters seems genuinely happy to see and greet their guests. Not only that, the open-concept allows you to see everything. Also, the shop smells divine!
I was able to briefly chat with Hinckley and his business partner, Gavin. Even with all the hustle and bustle of a grand opening, it was nice to feel welcome and truly appreciated for visiting the cookie shop. Gavin told me how Crumbl began with just the chocolate chip cookie. I was mesmerized listening to him speak about the concept of Crumbl and it’s history.

The cookie flavor concept behind Crumbl is genius, to say the least. The weekly menu keeps the chocolate chip and chilled sugar cookies every week. However, the other four flavor options rotate. According to The State, there are about 100 different flavor options to look forward to. Hinckley tells The State, “Just anything you can think of, we’re probably making a cookie.”
Let’s chat about these cookies! In my four-pack, I got Chilled Sugar Cookie, Chocolate Chip Peppermint Bark, and Chilled Cookies and Cream Milkshake. Luckily, I snagged a photo of some cookies leaving the shop. My cookies were devoured too quickly and missed their Instagram photo op. Unlike your average run-of-the-mill cookie, these cookies are ginormous. They’re soft and the flavors are well rounded and work very well together. Also, I’m more than happy to report that, since I was initially concerned having read that they also have a chilled Sour Patch Kids cookie that comes with lime frosting. While I know several people who would relish the opportunity to try that flavor, I’m a little intimidated.
