When I first moved to Lexington, I was perplexed by the amount of active people we have in our town. One of the most populated areas is the Lake Murray Dam Walkway . This paved way located on the Dam provides a scenic and safe way for you to get that leisurely stroll or rigorous run into your day.

So many amazing sun sets are seen at this location. Parking is located just off HWY 6. If you walk the entire Dam one way it is 1.7 miles. So, if you have to come back to your car, which you parked at one end; you be completing a journey of 3.4 miles.
During the summer months as well you can visit the picnic areas that are open from April-September. They do charge a little fee to enter: $3.00 for Cars and Trucks, $2.00 for motorcycles and $5.00 for Passenger Vans. You can also swim and purchase a season pass at $45.00 a car.
***Picnic area closed due to Covid-19, check website for more details.
After your walk or run, stop by The Dam House for DAM Good Beer.
